I am getting on with my contents page. I took off the faded part because it didn't look that good and i thought it looked better like this. I have also started typing my tact from the ideas and main plan i had for my page.

Contents page first attempt
This is the start of my contents page. I have used "shaped" layout in the middle of the page to add a large image to attract the audience. I have adapted it to my target audience because i know they would like to see images, i also decided to add a big image in the middle of the page because I think that a contents page shouldn't have loads of writing but lots of images to visually show the audience what is going to be in the magazine.
I also decided to add a "circle' layout to announce how to get 2 tickets for free for Shay's next tour. I used a circle because i knew that the audience wouldn't miss it, whereas if I wrote it as a normal text the readers probably would have missed this opportunity to see it.
The reason why i used a color fade is because i have a tried only one color and i found out that it looked plane and not eye catching enough, therefore with a fade it looks better and more exciting to look at.
Coming up next: I am going to make different layouts for the text below the image to test and see how it looks as I indicated in my plan. I am planning to do three column for the writing, but i might only do two column.

Sketches for CONTENTS PAGE
This is my contents page plan.
This is some of the design I have got from the magazines research. i took those because i like the layout and in my sketches I set it out. I want the main image in the middle of the page because i want all the attention of the readers. I also have reproduced the lines to separate the name of the texts and the actual texts.

QUICK UPLOAD.
I am currently working on my magazine cover on photoshop, I am using grids and rulers to make sure my text is always straight and not all over the place on the page. I have been suggested this font so this is a try out on how it will look if I do chose this font for my final piece. What I think about it is that the colour of the font don't really suit with the beige text. Well I am going to finish typing the text then I will see if i should change the colour.

More ideas, audience research...
These are few front cover starters, I tried to change the colour of the fonts to make the model come out a little bit more. I am also doing this so that the audience can tell me what they think and which cover they like the most. If they don't like any of them then, they can suggest me what they would prefer.

MAGAZINE IN PROGRESS.
This is some editing i have done for my front cover. I thought of doing a white font because its the colour that stands out the best on back. The white font also matches her teeth so I made sure that her teeth were as bright as the white on the masthead to make a sort of connection between both. I have also used a filter in order for her the lighting to be just on her so that the audience focuses on her only and not about the background. This made her lighter and made the picture more interesting to look at.
In my next lesson i am going to make changes, by slightly reducing the font so that the C don't look as small, and so that the D, Yand M don't look so far from each other. I am also going to start thinking about where to place my sell lines and all the other writing on the page.

Front cover shooting ideas
This is a collage from the background of my front cover magazine These pictures have been taken in a city of Paris, known for it's graffities. At first I wanted to have graffities for my model to pose in in front of it because I think that it is one of the coventions sometimles in RNB/RAP to have graffitits behing as it protrays most of the men or women artist past who expericence the 'Thug life'. However, i decided to take images of them to see if it would be possible. At the end i saw that using those background was not the best idea for my magazine because it first could confuse readers because theres a lot of colors but also because it would have been difficult for me to write my masthead, subtitles, selling lines ect in a way that would stand out from the background. This is because there's already so much color on those pictures that if i was to shoot for my front cover all the writing and even the model won't really stand out. This experience allowed me to understand and to know that the background must not be full of colors and design because it couldn't make the model and writing stand out enough for the customers to be interested in even having a look at it.
