Target audience profile evidence

Pre sketch for double page.

This is a pre-sketch for my double page, I am imagining to put writing of an interview on my left page then on the left hand side of the right page will be the person that's being interviewed posing for the camera, the on the other side will be the other explanations. I want to put the person on the page so the audience can relate and have an image of the person in their mind. This is just a pre-sketch until i do my original sketch.

Masthead evidence

This is an evidence for my chosen masthead, i previously posted a picture with different mastheads for people to leave a comment and tell me which one they would like the most or which one would be eye catching for them if they were to see it in a magazine shop. The final one that I have chosen is 'Dynamic', this one is also the one that I liked the most and that I think is the most adapted to my genre. i think that dynamic represents energetic and powerful music. I also think that it is very eye catching and I'm putting myself as if I was targeted and I know that if i saw a music magazine called Dynamic and with the cover that suits R&B I would be fascinated and excited about reading it.
With this title I'm also going to have a catching picture as a front image for it to match.

I already have chosen which one I'm going to use however i'm going to let people have a say in which one they prefer the most, so if there's any changes to make i can make it quickly.

Masthead

These are few ideas for my masthead, for my music magazine. I have thought about few names for my magazine, these words all have something to do with music, I wanted names that sort of represented music, so when people see the masthead they knew straight away that it was a music magazine.

Music Magazine Target Audience(preview)

My music magazine will be based around R&B, and i have few names for it Dynamic, RxB, Dillema, Ignition and replay; my target audience will be directed to both men and women from 18-35 years of age. My magazine will contain all information about music, latest hit, newest, best songs, music artist, advices from artists and lots of other interesting things about the music industry. This magazine will mainly be for people that are passionate about R&B music. My magazine will let the target audience have an insight on what R&B is about, how it was made and what is needed to make a good R&B song that they love. Many use the stereotype of black people being associated with R&B, however my magazine will not base around one particular ethnic groups, because will be based around many different ethnic groups. My magazine will be targeted for Urban intelligent and more middle class people.The demographic plan would be for busy areas such as Hackney, Lewisham and other south london area. My magazine will cost 1.60 in local shops and 2.99 in bigger places such as sports wear places e.g JD.

This was my little introduction on my future music magazine that I will make the following 7 weeks.

Mood board R&B and coventions

This is my research on my music magazine genre. R&B is the genre that I chose to do my magazine on ,so these are few different R&B magazine covers, with different artists on the cover. This will give me few ideas on how my magazine has to be to be successful.

This is an R&B magazine which shows similarities between both men and women cover. The first thing in R&B magazine covers we see the music artist either topless for men or very little clothing for women. The purpose for men to be topless is because teenage girls and young adults female that are fan of the artist the editor is aware that having that artist topless is going to sell better. For a women, minimal clothing, or sexy outfit, to please their audience (male). Another thing is jellewery is important for both for woman it’s something that will catch male eyes straight away and it also emphasis their look and position of seduction; for men it is important because it emphasis their status in the society. Tattoos are a big part of R&B culture again for men, with the majority having lots of tattoos all visible to the public. This could be used to show creativity and independence from other artists.

 

My finished school magazine

Here is my school magazine, I have decided to use a bright green masthead because I am directly to a precise audience therefore i really believe that using this color and font is going to attract them to read the magazine. I have used a black color for the cover lines because I think it suits with the back ground and the other colors on the page. I used relevant color to the purpose and the main image because if a did use a color such as orange or purple it wouldn't of suited with the whole ideas. Also, some people don't like when there's lots of colors on the cover because they want one or two eye catching color, whereas on some magazine you see like 5 different colors which can put off people from wanting to read because as a cover they won't even know where to look and what to read first, so this is why i have chosen one catching color and the rest is plain because I don't want people to get confused just by looking at the cover.For my main image I chose a picture of myself smiling and looking far away because I want to deliver a positive image about school; for the smile I'm trying to tell the audience that going school is a good thing and it is important for your future.

 

This is my content's page I chose a very light pink background with black writing because I thought that it would look nice, and stand out. I have also added pictures relevant to my pages. I have included pages because I want people, have a preview of what they are going to read. The book and teacher is relevant because it represents school, The picture on the bottom right is three students I chose this image to show how hard students are working for their final exams. Lastly, the image on the bottom left is a picture of a student jumping and smiling, I wanted to show that school is not all about stress and that students still enjoy it.

Title's examples

At the end I chose the first one, Edwardian script ITC because I believe that it is more adapted to my target audience. When people look at a magazine the title is one of the fist thing they see, this is why I chose it because they will fancy it which will make them want to read.

Sketch

This is my front cover followed by my contents page sketches. I have made those sketches to have a clear vision of what my magazine is going to look like, it also helped me because it was like a plan, therefore while making my magazine i didn't struggle because I had the sketches with me. 

Medium/ close up

These are medium/close up photo's, they're are few example for my font cover image for my school magazine. Whilst photo shooting for my main image, I experimented using a variety of different camera shot. 

I decided to choose the first image because it fitted well for a school magazine, it was the only one which had space to include some writing. I didn't choose the other ones because it didn't have much space to write any thing else and it also wasn't the right format for a magazine.

This is a reseach of few school magazine example that i have looked up on internet, it gave me a clear idea of what my magazine is going to look like. From all magazine research I have seen good and bad decision from the person that made them. Some magazine had too many colours and font, which didn't make their masthead stand out from all the other cover lines. I will also need to take in consideration the composition, main image and colour because my magazine will need to catch people's eye therefore make sure that it all appeals for my target audience.

Editing : Long take

Long takes are simply shots that extend for a long period of time before cutting to the next shot.  Usually done with a moving camera, long takes are often used to build suspense or capture the attention of audience of without breaking their concentration by cutting the film.
